Blood Donation Camp jointly organized by
High Commission of India and Indian Association Belait on 13 February, 2022

The High Commission of India and the Indian Association of Belait (IAB), Brunei jointly organized a blood donation drive on 13 February 2022 at IAB hall in Seria from 9:00 am till 2.00 pm on the occasion of the forthcoming 38th National Day of Brunei Darussalam and also as part of the ongoing celebrations of India@75 “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.”

Around 40 people including officials of the High Commission of India donated blood for this noble cause.

In spite of the current Covid 19 situation, the event saw enthusiastic participation from the members of all the communities (local and expats) who came in large numbers to be part of the blood donation campaign. Such campaigns have been organized by IAB for the past many years as part of its commitment to the local community. Blood donation was conducted following all the SOPs recommended by MOH like ART, temperature check, Bruhealth registration, etc.

IAB President Salimo welcomed officials of the High Commission, donors and medical team from Suri Seri Begawan hospital Kuala Belait.  Chargé d'Affaires of the High Commission of India, Mr. Alok Verma encouraged and urged the community to donate blood at regular intervals as blood donation is considered one of the best ways of helping the mankind.
