The last date for submission of online application has now been extended till 15th October 2018

1. The Government of India has launched a scheme called “Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children(SPDC) for pursuing undergraduate courses where 150 scholarships are given to the children of PIO/NRIs; children of Indian workers working in ECR countries; and children of Indian workers working in ECR countries but the children are studying in India.

2. The objective of the scheme is to assist the candidates who are need of financial assistance. Monthly gross income of the parents of the candidates should not be more than US $ 4000.

3. The institutions that are covered under the scheme:

I) NITs, IIITs, Schools of Planning and Architecture

ii) A’ Grade institutions accredited by NAAC and recognised by UGC

iii) Central Universities of India

iv) Other institutions covered under DASA scheme.

4. Government of India will bear partial financial assistance to the extent of 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US$ 4000/- per annum under this scheme.
