Celebrating India@75 – AzadiKaAmritMahotsav : Free Health Camp
organized by Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association(BSBIA)
in collaboration with High Commission of India
The Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA), in collaboration with the High Commission of India, organized a Free Health Camp at PusatBelia Hall in Brunei today from 1300 hours to 1630 hours as part of the celebrations of India@75 - “AzadikaAmritMahotsav”. The AmritMahotsav had been launched exactly 75 weeks before the 75thanniversary of India’s independence, i.e. 15 August 2022, and will be celebrated till 15 August 2023.
More than 100 persons of Indian origin participated and availed of the free health camp. During the event, various tests including blood sugar, blood pressure, etc were conducted for the benefit of the participants. The tests were followed by free consultations and check-ups by ten doctors and paramedics from the Indian community. There was a talk by Dato Seri Laila Jasa Dr. BabuSukumaran, Director of the Brunei Cancer Center on general health detailing the benefits of regular exercise and health check-ups for everybody.
On the occasion, High Commissioner HE Ajaneesh Kumar thanked the representatives of the BSBIA for organising the free Health Camp, as part of the commemoration of the 75thanniversary of her independence. He emphasised that all of us have a duty to give back to the society. He called upon the members of the Indian diaspora to make maximum use of such events.
