H.E. Mr. Alok Amitabh Dimri
High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam


Ambassador Alok Amitabh Dimri is a career diplomat and a member of Indian Foreign Service.

Ambassador Dimri has served nearly a decade in East Asia – China (2000-03 & 2013-15), Mongolia (2003-04), and on deputation to India-Taipei Association at Taipei, during 2004-07.

Ambassador Dimri headed Ministry of External Affairs’ Counter-Terrorism Cell (2007-09), and was Deputy-Chief of Protocol to the Prime Minister of India for 2009-10.

Ambassador Dimri has served at India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2010-13), when India was the member of the UN Security Council. He was responsible for Peacekeeping, Peacebuilding, Disarmament, Counter-Terrorism, and Budget matters at the UN.

Ambassador Dimri served as Director (South) at the Headquarters and was Head of Multilateral Economic Relations (MER) Division, of the Ministry (2015-18), responsible for G20, BRICS, IBSA, OECD, WTO, and UNCTAD matters, encompassing multilateral - trade, economic and commercial diplomacy.

Ambassador Dimri earned his Masters and M.Phil in Political Science from Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University. Ambassador Dimri speaks Hindi, English, Mandarin and Russian.

Ambassador Dimri was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Kyrgyz Republic, from January, 2019 to February, 2022.

Has been High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam since March 2022.
