Friendly football match between FC Goa and DPMM FC 24 November 2017, Brunei Darussalam

A Friendly Football match was held between FC Goa and DPMM FC, the football club owned by His Royal Highness Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam, on Friday, 24 November 2017 at the National Stadium in Brunei Darussalam. DPMM FC won the match 5-1.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince attended the match, met all players and officials from FC Goa and presented the Captain of the team with a DPMM FC team jersey that had been signed by all its team players. His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik, as well as the Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports of Brunei Darussalam and the High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam. The match was distinguished by a display of artistry and skillful control of the bystanders, with a high sense of excitement and a great spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. The enthusiastic audience cheered both the teams.

The Friendly Match was the first event to be held on the MoU on Cooperation in Youth and Sports Affairs between India and Brunei Darussalam signed between the two countries in February 2016 during the visit of the then Vice-President of India. The Brunei team is expected to pay a visit to India in the future.
