High Commission of India organised a business symposium  

on Thursday, 27 February 2025

The High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam organised a dynamic and insightful business symposium titled "Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship – Wasasan 2035, The Way Forward" on Thursday, 27 February 2025, at the Radisson Hotel. The symposium witnessed an impressive attendance of approximately 120 participants. Among them were members of Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry and National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance & Economy, Acting CEO of the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), Managing Director of Esca Marine & Engineering Sdn Bhd, and representatives from Glamco Aviation. The event also welcomed youth entrepreneurs from Brunei's burgeoning start-up ecosystem and executives from Brunei's tourism sector.

The symposium commenced with a welcome address by the High Commissioner, who highlighted the vast opportunities in the Indian market awaiting exploration. This was followed by remarks from members of both the National and Brunei Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry. Mr. Daniel Leong, Acting CEO of BEDB, delivered a compelling presentation on the newly launched direct flight operations by Royal Brunei Airlines from Brunei to Chennai, emphasizing their role in fostering business exchanges between India and Brunei.

Adding further value to the event, young start-up entrepreneurs, including Ms. Labibah Shafiee, Ms. Khairani, and Mr. Rayyan Sufian, shared their inspiring journeys and perspectives on innovation and entrepreneurship. The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Renjit Gopalakrishnan, Vice President of the Indian Association Belait, reiterating the commitment to strengthen collaboration between India and Brunei.
